The bistatic RCS of a dielectric sphere is calculated.
GiD allows creating canonical shapes and objects in particular a sphere.
The operational frequency is 300 MHz. The sphere radius is a = 1/(2π) m, that means ka = 1. In our example the relative permittivity is set to 4.43.
Because of the availability of theoretical results for such simple targets (Mie-series), they are often used as validation cases.

Using a quarter of the geometry would have been a good idea in this example. But the problem size is so small that the computation is almost instant.
