Antenna Analysis and Design

E-mail Print

The company has been involved in the analysis and design of many antennas systems from the VLF to millimeters wavelengths. Several tools have been developed concurrently for these studies. Three of them are commercial products referenced at the software section.

The main tool is ICARE. It is based on the Method of Moments (MoM) for 3D objects. This versatile software is able to simulate all kinds of antennas.

If the considered antenna as a symmetry of revolution (horns, reflectors, lens,...), its 2D counterpart IEROS may be used. The computation time is dramatically reduced with this tool.

If the environment of the antenna has to be taken into account, the size of the problem may be cumbersome. In that case, everything around the antenna may be simulated with IDRA, based on a ray tracer and the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD).

Some examples of antennas studied by IEEA are shown below. Many other examples are available in ICARE examples, IEROS examples and ICARE user guide.
